During this intensive and inspiring three-day workshop, you’ll take your cold wax paintings to the next level. Explore new techniques of creating with cold wax and oil and walk away feeling excited and confident about your work.

You will:
• Discover new texture, mark-making, and masking techniques
• Learn techniques to draw on top of cold wax.
• Learn to effectively and efficiently work in a series.
• Find or strengthen your personal, artistic style.
• Learn new and impactful ways to create dynamic underpaintings
• Discover how to critique your own work.
• HAVE FUN and walk away with dynamic paintings.

About Dianna Fritzler

Over the past 15 years, Dianna has taught multitudes of students across the country through her lively, informative and encouraging workshops. She believes that we are our own worst critics and that by exploring our creative gifts without judgement in an affirming and nurturing environment we can unlock magic. From beginners to advanced, her students discover new potential and create powerful works of art.

As a full-time artist, Dianna is on the faculty of the Art Students League of Denver and her paintings are collected around the world. Her work is in the public collections of Children’s Hospital Colorado, St. Mary’s Hospital, Colorado Mesa University and Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado. She is in several galleries and her art dons the wine labels of Grande River Vineyards. Her biggest honor is to be able to spread joy through her work and teach others how to find exuberance in creating.

Leslie Miller is a contemporary artist painting primarily in oil with cold wax medium. Fascinated by the many layers, unique marks, and ability to create transparency and opacity that hints toward the human condition. Working intuitively each piece ebbs and flows through various layers that could not be achieved in one pass. In the same way, people are built from many different layers of influence and experiences.

Her artwork can be found in many local exhibits in Arizona and homes throughout the US. Leslie’s work is represented by On The Edge Contemporary Gallery in Tubac. In 2016 she received the Master Meed award by popular vote from Tubac Center of the Arts.

After many creative endeavors, she began her education in fine art through independent study in 2014 and continues to learn constantly from other accomplished artists. Notably, Leslie brings art instructors from around the country to teach workshops at Tubac School of Fine Art the adult education division of Tubac Center of the Arts. Leslie also teaches workshops at the school and online.

Born and adopted in California, raised in East Tennessee she now resides in Tubac, AZ.

I was inspired every day by Dianna and Leslie and the other participants. Being a teacher myself, I expect the instructors to be prepared, organized, clear, provide a variety of ways to learn. This course did all that. It was fun and I left with many starts and many ideas.
