Workshop Description

I was TERRIFIED the first time I participated in a plein air event. It took me forever to set up and figure out what to paint. I was so overwhelmed!

Thank goodness I had someone to show me the ropes and give me a few tips that first time I did a Plein Air Event.

You don’t need to experience the fear or overwhelm that I did. I’ll guide you through it all in this
SUCCESSFUL PLEIN AIR WORKSHOP

That first event was scary, and I never imagined that my work would be featured in Plein Air Magazine, American Art Collector, Fine Art Connoisseur, Southwestern Art and that I’d receive – Best in Show, Artists Choice, People’s Choice, Best Quick Draw, Plein Air Salon OverAll, Best Category and other top awards.

Four years ago I didn’t understand how Plein Air Painting would open the world to me and that I would find one of my greatest joys and incredible community.

Even if you don’t want to participate in organized events I can get you through the scary bits and to painting SUCCESSFULLY in Plein Air.

PLEIN AIR WORKSHOP

I’ll show you the ropes and reveal the tips to get you to creating SUCCESSFULLY in Plein Air.

How to compose and simplify the scene.
How to remain faithful to the focal point and lead the viewer to it.
How to capture the essence and feel of a place.
How to create atmosphere and depth.
How to mix and use color harmonies.

Paint in oil or acrylic. You can see my process as I demo the first morning and I’ll be right beside you as you apply what you’ve learned in the afternoon.

You will paint better, express your vision more successfully and have a great time going through the process together.

Helping you create your art is something I love to do by teaching techniques that will allow you to paint your view and add your voice.

In the creation of your art, you are enriched and in the sharing of your art you enrich others.

I wish I would have had the opportunity to attend a workshop like the one I’ve prepared for you! You will return home ready to tackle any environment, event, or trip where you want to paint outdoors.
