About Anita Lehmann

Anita H. Lehmann is a teacher, an artist, and an award-winning architectural illustrator. She is a registered architect in the state of Washington with a Master of Architecture from the University of Washington. She teaches group art classes in the United States and Europe, focusing on free hand drawing, painting and design. Her other skills include architectural design, graphic design, community planning, and design illustration. Anita brings over 35 years of teaching experience and continues to discover intention.
When I signed up for her last series, “Let’s get Outside”, a series of outdoor sessions in May and June, I was feeling fairly ‘stuck’ in my drawing efforts. There were drawings I appreciated, but I felt unable to make any sort of a shift in the work.
Through the course of these four sessions, I was able to powerfully shift my approach. Perhaps better to say: I was able to get some distance from the approaches I was stuck in; try some very effective strategies as entry points; and, through this course, clarify my seeing, solidify some fundamentals, and launch myself on a
significantly more satisfying approach to my drawing practice.
Needless to say, I’m a great fan of Anita’s work and her teaching, and look forward to taking many more courses with her!
